Chronic Jazz Syndrome is a 6-piece group fronted by a horn section (sax/clarinet; trumpet/flugelhorn; trombone) and supported by keyboards, bass and drums. Besides our jazz repertoire, we perform jazz arrangements of many of today’s most popular tunes. Most arrangements are written by our trombonist, Wayne Mogel.
CJS mixes high-energy horn-band tunes with more relaxed ballads. For functions such as weddings, we can add a guest vocalist or guitarist, and include additional tunes to suit our clients’ specific preferences.
Chronic Jazz Syndrome has been performing in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts for nearly fifteen years. In addition to playing monthly gigs, weddings and other special performances, we have entertained at favored jazz venues such as the Press Room in Portsmouth, NH, Blue in Portland, ME, and The Lilypad in Cambridge, MA.
